It’s time to Pop the champagne…Why? Because it’s blog post #1…WHAT?!?!?!?!
Currently I am sitting here on day 14 of Covid-19 quarantine and I am bummed that I am not just getting settled in from traveling back from Florida after shooting a wedding. I should be dropping my cards, backing up files and preparing a preview…but instead I am here sitting on my couch binge watching my favorite tv show, Grey’s Anatomy for the forth time.
Being social and interacting with others fuels my soul, so much like most of y’all out there we are probably all going stir crazy. As a child of military parents I’ve acquired many traits but most importantly I have learned to be very adaptable. Having all this extra time on my hands has given the me the downtime to hone in on projects I have neglected and allowed me to slow down giving my body some rest.
It has made me think though…how do I define who I am? And how do YOU see yourself? When you meet others for the first time, maybe in an elevator or on a plane we almost always talk about what our job is or what we do for a living. It’s rare to discuss what we do on a free weekend or what our favorite adult beverage is or maybe what your favorite cake flavor is.
So who AM I?
My name is Jackie. I photograph couples with the hope that I make people happy. There has never been a moment where I am not flattered and humbled when others describe my work or me with praise and admiration. I am an extreme work-a-holic and if you haven’t guessed it obsessed with all the details. Those close to me know that I love hard and am a fierce friend…I will always be your ride or die. Although I forget to slow down, I am all about being in the moment. I try spending my time doing the things that fuel my soul, because life is to short spending time doing things that don’t make you happy.
So some random things about me
…I love all things potatoes and consider them there own food group.
…I live to watch Grey’s Anatomy every Thursday night.
…I love reality tv shows especially those on Bravo, but I still have never watch any of the bachelor series
…I have 3 dogs. Tye the schnauzer, Penny the Boston Tierrer and Hobbes the boxer.
…Oh and in case you were wondering what my favorite cake flavor was, it probably is a toss up between red velvet or strawberry.
What about you? Who are YOU?
